On this site you’ll find discussions at undergraduate level of a wide range of literature.
Over decades of teaching in Australian universities, I’ve written lectures on many topics.
The lectures deal with English literary texts from Chaucer into modern times, and with Australian, American and Irish novels, plays and poems.
I’m planning to upload lectures on Shakespeare and on Renaissance, Restoration, Victorian and modern drama. Other categories of lectures are arranged around themes, such as “Literature of Spirituality” and “Women in Literature.”
Most lectures draw only minimally on published criticism and commentary. Overwhelmingly they consist of my independent insights and responses to the works discussed.
The aim is to make my years of teaching literature freely available to present and future university students. I very much welcome comments and discussion.
